About the Class:

In the Creative Arts, Movement & Yoga class of Explorers by Nature School, Pre Kindergarten-2nd graders (3.5-8 years) will be introduced to a variety of art mediums through nature-inspired art projects, and process art to allow children to tap into their creative inner artists! Explorers will also have the opportunity to engage in active games, and child-friendly, playful, imaginative and engaging mini yoga sessions that incorporate a blend of stories, games, stretching, and breathing techniques. These yoga sessions are designed to encourage children to be mindful of their emotions and bodies, while learning ways to better manage/regulate their emotions. This class will meet each Thursday for three hours. Our daily rhythm of class will include opening circle/snack, creative arts, movement/games, lunch, a nature hike, and yoga, ending with closing circle to reflect on our time spent in nature together. Come prepared for hands-on, active, exciting and sometimes even messy learning in nature with friends! This is a six-week program that will meet at rotating East County SD parks. Every part of your child's day with Explorers by Nature is thoughtfully designed to meet their varied needs: social-emotional, physical, and educational. Children are given autonomy of their time with Explorers by Nature, through free time, creative art exploration, child-led hikes, and planned activities that are intended to be child-led. Granting our children this independence builds self-confidence and allows explorers to discover new passions and interests. You may choose between a drop-off option for your 3.5-8 year old, or parents are welcome to stay at nature school for part of our day, or the entire time. Prior to being approved for the drop-off option, families will be required to have a consult/meet & greet with the teacher to ensure this is the best fit for each child enrolled with Explorers by Nature school program.
