About the Class:

Join Explorers by Nature School this Winter for an exciting session with Pre Kindergarten-2nd graders (ages 4-8) to discover all about snow and the Artic using a blend of art, science, math, engineering, movement and invitations to nature play. Nature school will meet each Tuesday for three hours. Daily learning in nature will include multiple subject areas that are blended together to create a community of learners who are engaged, inquisitive, and drivers of their own learning paths. Come prepared for hands-on, active, exciting and sometimes even messy learning in nature with friends! Our daily rhythm of class typically includes opening circle/snack, station-based learning, lunch/free play time, a guided nature exploration hike, creative arts, ending with closing circle time to reflect on our time spent in nature together. Weeks 1-5 of this program will be held at a rotating East County San Diego park. Week 6 will be our in theme culminating field trip (for both parent and child participation). Every part of your child's day with Explorers by Nature is thoughtfully designed to meet their varied needs: social-emotional, physical, and educational. Children are given autonomy of their time with Explorers by Nature, through free time, open station choices, and planned activities that are intended to be child-led. Granting our children this independence builds self-confidence and allows explorers to discover new passions and interests. You may choose between a drop-off option for your 4-8 year old, or parents are welcome to stay at nature school for part of our day, or the entire time. Prior to being approved for the drop-off option, families will be required to have a consult/meet & greet with the teacher to ensure this is the best fit for each child enrolled with Explorers by Nature school program.
