About the Class:

Join Explorers by Nature School this Fall for an exciting session with Pre Kindergarten-2nd graders (ages 3.5-8) to discover all about the wonders of the beautiful fall season using a blend of art, science, math, engineering, movement and invitations to nature play. Nature school will meet each Thursday for three hours, (with an option to extend the day for up to five hours of outdoor play and exploration, contact for more information). Daily learning in nature will include multiple subject areas that are blended together to create a community of learners who are engaged, inquisitive, and drivers of their own learning paths. Come prepared for hands-on, active, exciting and sometimes even messy learning in nature with friends! Our daily rhythm of class typically includes open exploration with a snack-time, a child-led nature hike, lunch time, station-based learning infusing a blend of subject areas, ending with closing circle time to reflect on our time spent in nature together. This is an eight-week program that will meet at rotating East County SD parks, gardens and farms. Our eight-week session also includes two field trips! Every part of your child's day with Explorers by Nature is thoughtfully designed to meet their varied needs: social-emotional, physical, and educational. Children are given autonomy of their time with Explorers by Nature, through free time, open station choices, and planned activities that are intended to be child-led. Granting our children this independence builds self-confidence and allows explorers to discover new passions and interests. Interested in both the Tuesday and Thursday Class?
